Months after starting my first office job, I and the entire world were struck by the COVID-19 crisis. The change in my daily life sparked the courage I needed to leave my career in accounting to start art school in 2021. Years of crafting had prepared me for my beloved paper arts, especially collage art. I'm currently a sophomore art student with an intention to gain a Master's in Art Therapy.
I love to poke fun at serious subjects, such as sex & love, fatphobia, religion, and mental illness. Color and perception have recently gained my interest, and I've experimented with materials that play into these elements.
When I create a collage, it most often starts with the source materials for me. Searching through used bookstores for vintage gems is the beginning of a great collage. Then I piece together words, themes, and emotions that contribute generously to my cut pieces.
Thank you!
